Filter Frames are designed for retaining air filter media pads. The frame is fabricated of 26 gauge corrosion resistant steel channel with each corner of the frame mitered for squareness.

Filter pads are supported on the downstream side with a corrosion resistant steel expanded metal lathe grid. Filter frames are available in (6) standard sizes and almost any custom size from 6" x 6" to 27" x 36".

The unique gasket fits into the one-inch return grille filter slot with the excessive depth of the filter protruding into the duct system. The self-sealing gasket prevents unfiltered air from by-passing the filtering process. Filters that are not self-sealing allow pollutants to be pulled around the filter, filter bypass, and into the ventilation system, escaping the filtration process.

As these particles accumulate, they provide nutrients necessary for mold, mildew and other biological contaminants to breed and grow in the ventilation system. The Practical Pleat can capture up to 30 times more small contaminants than the filter it is intended to replace. The Practical Pleat overcomes the increase in resistance to airflow, without sacrificing efficiency, by extending the surface area of the filter.

In addition, the Practical Pleat's surface area is 433% greater than a comparable one-inch extended surface pleat and consequently reduces resistance to airflow by 41%. This reduction in resistance to airflow reduces energy consumption, increases air circulation, increases efficiency, decreases maintenance and extends the effective lifetime of the equipment.
