This mold test kit is the 1st line of defense against possible exceesive molds and bacteria in a home or office and should only be used as an indicator of what might be a problem.
Your test kit contains two vials of growth gel , two petri dishes and a sampling swab. These kits can be used indoors and out. There’s even an optional mail-in lab analysis available to identify the type of mold present. Instructions are provided for Manual , Static and Air Ventilation Sampling. Instructions for use:
Pour one vial of growth gel in to each of the respective petri dishes. Replace their lids and let solidify for 1/2 hour. Be careful not to touch the inside of the dishes prior to use or the liquid gel itself...this can lead to contamination. Remove the lids again , prior to sampling. It is recommended that one dish be placed outside with the lid off for an hour out of the sun so it can be used as a control sampling. After the hour is up , put the lid on the dish , tape it shut and label it with a marker for location.
Proceed with either a Manual Sampling with included swab , a Static Sampling , or an HVAC Air Ventilation Sampling (tape is required).
Some types of mold, like toxic mold, are more dangerous to your health than others. It is important to determine the type of mold you have growing. To do this you will need to mail the mold sample to our lab for analysis with the included envelope. There is a separate $19.95 cost for analysis per kit and you will receive results in less than 5 days of receiving your returned samples.
